Stars forward Joe Pavelski has had his contract extended for one more year at $3.5m, several months before he would have been an unrestricted free agent this summer.

Currently 38 years old, the American forward is still putting up elite level numbers, as he currently has 37 points in 38 games for the Texas based hockey club.
Extending the American forward would mean that he will be playing his 5th year in Dallas, and his 18th year in the NHL.
The likely future hall of famer has made a significant difference to Dallas since signing from the San Jose Sharks back in the 2019 off season. Pavelski also provides veteran leadership and experience to the Stars line up, which can be especially important given their number of young super stars like Jason Robertson, and Rope Hintz.
The Stars currently lead the central division and Pavelski is certainly part of that success. Now that “Captain America” is locked up for another year, the Stars look to be a major force in the NHL for the rest of this year and next season.
