Five NHL Players That Need to Win A Cup

As the first round of the 2023 NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs comes to an end we have eight remaining teams that still have the opportunity to win the Stanley Cup.

With that being said, that means that there are players on the remaining eight rosters and deserve to win their first cup. Here is our top 5

Connor McDavid

After a ground shaking 153 point regular season, Connor McDavid is a player that many fans would argue needs to retire with a ring.

Since his debut in the 2015/2016 season, the superstar is definatively the best player in the league and has won countless awards. A Stanley Cup will certainly cement his name as one of the best players to ever play the game and will allow fans across the world to appreciate his greatness further.

Joe Pavelski

The long time league favourite Joe Pavelski has just returned from injury from round one and had an unbelievable game one performance in the tragic loss to the Seattle Kraken. How great of a story would it be that Joe Pavelski comes back after injury to lead his team to the finals.

This would only exemplify his identity as one of the league’s top leaders and rewrite the past finals losses from his 2016 Sharks run, and the 2020 buble run that his stars had.

Sergei Bobrovsky

Sergei Bobrovsky has now taken out two of the best regular season teams of all time and has won two vezina trophies. A stanely cup would be the cherry on top of an amazing story where he showed up and dominated after a underwhelming regular season in which he was replaced at one point during the season.

Bobrovsky has shown time and time again that he is a game changer, and this would be a defining moment for both the Panthers organization and Bobrovsky’s career.

Brent Burns

Along with Pavelski, Brent Burns was also part of the 2016 Sharks roster that fell in the finals to the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Burns who has struggled in recent seasons has revived his career by joining a Carolina Hurricanes team that has impressed many. The Hurricanes themselves have been written off all season, but like Burns, continue to dominate and dominate.

Mark Giordano

The former Norris winner and captain for two organizations has shown time and time again that he is a great leader and dedication to the game. Now 39 years old, Giordano is still looking for his first Stanley Cup, which would be the cherry on top for an amazing and lengthy career.
