The London Blues have signed Andrey Santos, a Brazilian midfielder from Vasco da Gama for a fee of €12.5m.

The Brazilian is able to play as a box to box midfielder, or a defensive midfielder. The value that Chelsea can get from Santos is from his work ethic and stamina. Santos is efficient defensively and is able to put in strong tackles to win possession of the ball.

Santos is also very efficient when carrying the ball forward, being able to evade defenders with simple passes and simple movements forward.

This signing from Chelsea is likely a long term developmental replacement for the N’golo Kante, who is a free agent at the end of this season.
