It looks like McMichael will be filling in as a center, which he has previously played in the past for the Capitals. Meanwhile Eller will be moving up to be 1C, and Strome playing as the 2C.

McMichael who has made a name for himself as being one of the most promising young talents in the league was scratched for the start of the year to the disappointment of most fans. However, this could be his chance to make a solid name for himself.

Given the injury situation and the suspension of Kuznetsov of a deep Capitals team, McMichael stepping up and showing of what he can do could leave a lasting impression on Capitals management.

McMichael will also likely be playing with seasoned and quality line mates that will support him this season. Protas, Mantha, Johansson, and Sheary, are all players that could end up playing alongside the young talent.

McMichael had 9 goals and 9 assists last season in 69 games. However, he was playing a more limited role.
