To the surprise of none, the Montreal Canadiens have named their 31st captain for next season and it is Nick Suzuki.
Suzuki who is only 23, is now the youngest ever captain for the Habs, as it was annonced earlier today by coach Martin St-Louis. It was also announced that the alternate captains would be Joel Edmundson and Brendan Gallagher.

Suzuki succeeds Shea Weber who was traded to the Vegas Golden Knights earlier this summer.
Ironically, Suzuki was originally a Vegas Golden Knight, as he was drafted by them in 2017. But was traded for then Montreal Canadiens captain Max Pacioretty in what was at the time a blockbuster move for both organizations.
The young center just recently signed a eight year contract with the Habs, so the expectation is that he will be in the organization as a corner piece for the forseeable future.
Suzuki has a bright future with the Habs and their core is looking to improve on last season’s results.
