In what seems to be a last minute deal that happens as the transfer window clams shut, Brighton & Hove Albion have signed Chelsea midfielder Billy Gilmour on a permanent transfer.
The fee is undisclosed but the move has been made official.
The Scottish midfielder is only 21 years of age, and brings forth a high skillset and talent to Brighton.
The move works for the player as he can get more opportunity to shine on a less talented team, and specifically in his position
Gilmour had spend the first two professional seasons of his young career with Chelsea, but he was loaned out to Norwich City last season. He had 24 appearances in the Premier League last year.
Gilmour is also technically a UEFA Champions League winner, so he brings forth some identity from a culture of winning to Brighton. Given his young age and Brighton’s position, this could be significant going forward.
