EPL Match of the Week: Arsenal v. Fulham (GW 4)

For the first time we have a non-traditional “Top Six” club make our Match of the Week prediction, but the upcoming Arsenal-Fulham match should be a fantastic game to watch for all parties involved.

Arsenal are currently on their best run of form to start out an EPL season in nearly two decades and with three wins from three and nine goals scored and only two against, the Gunners are making a strong case to be a real title contender this season.

Fulham on the other hand are having a decent start to their first season back in the top flight after spending the last season back in the Championship with a win last weekend over Brentford following successive draws.

The Cottagers are still flying high following their impressive 2-2 draw on the opening weekend against Liverpool, where Aleksander Mitrovic scored twice as the Serbian International is tied for second in league scoring with three in three appearances, just a season following his record breaking 43 goals in the Championship last season.

It appears that the Serbian, who was once shortlisted as a European Golden Boy as a teenager, is starting to shed the label that he is a player “too good for the Championship, but not good enough for the Premier League”.

Marco Silva and his squad will have their hands full however as the Gunners have got their 2022/23 season off to a flying start and that is in no small part due to the play of new signing Gabriel Jesus, who has two goals and three assists and played a vital part in all three Arsenal wins.

Add the play of Jesus to the hot start that both Gabriel Martinelli and Martin Ødegaard have been playing, while the likes of Emile Smith-Rowe and Bukayo Saka are still exciting talents as well, while Arsenal have also greatly benefited by the addition of Alexander Zinchenko as well.

Bernd Leno will also be making his return to the Emirates Stadium with Fulham following his departure over the summer transfer window after four seasons with the Gunners.

The German shotstopper has become the number one at Fulham after he was demoted last season following the arrival of Aaron Ramsdale in North London.

Arsenal have lost just one time in the past 15 games against Fulham (9W, 5D) with their last loss coming back in January 2012.

Score Prediction: 4-2 Arsenal
