In what seems to be a great deal for the Parisians, Lille midfielder signs for the club for a fee worth about €15m.

The 2016 golden boy winner has played on several different clubs over the years, but made a name for himself in Lille, and even winning Ligue 1 back in the 2020/2021 season.

Sanches looks to add more trophies to his already successful career, specifically continental ones, which match what his new club, PSG is striving for.

Renato Sanches has enjoyed his time in France, while also previously having stints in Germany, England, and his native Portugal where he started his career. However, playing in Ligue 1 seems to be where he is the most comfortable given his recent success.

Sanches also looks to be the replacement for Georginio Wijnaldum, who is likely moving to Italian side Roma this transfer window.

Given Sanches’ success in the league already, and how PSG need a proven midfielder who they know can compete in Ligue 1, this move looks like a perfect transfer.

PSG look to defend their title this season, but also have their eyes set on the UEFA Champions League.
