Juventus Hijack Bremer Deal from Inter; Deal Worth Over €40 Million

It is reported that the Brazilian has agreed to a €5 million salary on a five year deal.

This comes shortly after Juventus let their star defender Matthijs De Ligt head to Bayern Munich on a reported deal worth north of €80 million as the Torino-based side have been looking for defensive replacements after the departures of De Ligt and longtime Capitan Giorgio Chiellini in the past month.

Inter were working away at signing Bremer for a while and speculation on whether he would join took a turn as Torino were looking for a greater transfer fee than the €30 million Inter were offering as clubs like Tottenham and Arsenal were also looking to pick up the Brazilian as well.

The Nerazzurri had agreed to personal terms with the defender but were unable to get Torino to let him go for anything less than €35 million.

Since leaving Brazilian side Atletico Mineiro back in 2018, the Brazilian has steadily worked his way up to becoming one of the sides stalwart players as he has made over 25 league appearances in the past three seasons, and 33 in each of the last two campaigns.

With Torino, Bremer would play in the middle of a back three as he quickly established himself as a rock in the middle with excellent defensive qualities and a keen sense of positioning. He is also a very physically dominant defender and at nearly 6’2 he has an imposing frame.

While Bremer is lauded for his defensive abilities, he is also very rapid and with this myriad of factors it should come as no surprise to see the Brazilian named Serie A Defender of the Year last season.

This article from Total Football Analysis will illustrate the reasons as why Bremer has become a very hot commodity in the Football community over the last 12-24 months as clubs across Europe, including the aforementioned English clubs as well as other Italian clubs, were looking to acquire his services.

Bremer will not need to uproot his life so much as he will only be travelling across the city as he will now play for his former club’s biggest rival in Juventus, as the Old Lady will be certainly looking to Bremer to help them reclaim the Scudetto this upcoming season.
