To the surprise of no one, as it was previously rumored and announced by credible sources. Erling Haaland has officially signed with Manchester City.
Today it was just announced and made clear to the public that Erling will be playing in a sky blue shirt next season.
The Norwegian striker joins the club his father once played for, and the club he grew up supporting.
Haaland will be earning a salary similar to City star Kevin De Bruyne as part of his contract negotiation, while the transfer fee will likely be the release clause of $75 Million Euros.
Haaland will be joining arguably the strongest club in Europe, who have notably lacked in having a true striker, while having a surplus in playmakers. Haaland however, will likely fill in the gap of what truly was missing from the English Champions.
Given the structure and talents of the team, this will likely mean that Haaland will have many scoring opportunities as the Cityzen’s will look to find their new striker in attacking positions.
Manchester City have also won four of the past five Premier League titles, and the addition of Haaland means that they will be looking to add more in the coming years.
Manchester City also have a clear goal of winning the Champions League, which could be possible, given the addition of a truly world class striker in Haaland to the team. This could simply be the move that puts them over the edge, leading to success in European competition.
